On January 30, 2026, the water conveyance tunnel— a key controlling component of the Lao Biang II Hydropower Station in Indonesia, undertaken by the company—was safely and successfully completed. This milestone marks a major advancement in the company’s tunnel construction capabilities under complex geological conditions in overseas projects.
The water conveyance tunnel has a total length of 2,942.37 meters (including adits), with an excavation cross-section ranging from 14.81 to 16.47 square meters. During construction, it passed through multiple complex geological sections, including rock strata, soil layers, and fault fracture zones. Faced with highly variable geological conditions and the challenge of balancing efficiency, safety, and environmental protection using traditional construction methods, the project team innovatively adopted targeted mechanized construction solutions. This enabled precise and efficient excavation across different geological sections, achieving significant technical breakthroughs.
Despite a six-month delay in the handover of construction land, the project team, through scientific planning and meticulous management, not only ensured that the project progressed on schedule but also achieved systematic results in construction efficiency, engineering quality, cost control, and overall project duration, successfully completing all excavation works.
During implementation, the project achieved an outstanding single-face monthly advance of 349.0 meters, setting a new historical record for the company’s highest monthly advance. The average monthly advance was stably maintained at 200.3 meters, reflecting remarkable overall performance.
The successful breakthrough of the water conveyance tunnel represents an important achievement in the company’s efforts to deepen international engineering and technical cooperation, showcasing its strong project execution capabilities and technical integration strength. The company will continue to promote technological innovation and management upgrades, transforming successful experience into new momentum for future development, and remains committed to providing higher-quality engineering construction services to clients worldwide.
