Lights Never Dim, Tackling Challenges Relentlessly; Day and Night Efforts Deliver Outstanding Results — Kuala Geris Hydropower Project in Kelantan Surpasses 20,000 m³ of Concrete Pouring in Apri

Another piece of good news has come from the construction of the Kuala Geris Hydropower Project in Kelantan, Malaysia. All project personnel worked tirelessly to overcome difficulties, operating around the clock. In April, the project achieved an impressive milestone in concrete pouring—completing 20,022 cubic meters in a single month, setting a new record for monthly pouring volume since the start of the main works. This outstanding result reflects both efficient contract execution and high-quality construction.
Concrete pouring is a critical stage in the main construction of a hydropower station, directly impacting project quality, safety, and overall progress. Faced with tight schedules, heavy workloads, overlapping work fronts, and extremely hot weather conditions, the project team adopted continuous shift operations, working day and night with a “two-shift rotation” system to push progress at full speed. The construction site was in full swing.
The project team carried out meticulous planning and scientific coordination, optimizing construction methods and workflow integration, and allocating resources efficiently. Management personnel remained on-site throughout to strictly control quality and safety across all processes, including pouring, vibration, and curing. Close coordination across all positions ensured seamless workflow and efficient advancement. At the same time, the introduction and promotion of new formwork technologies significantly improved both construction efficiency and economic performance. Frontline workers demonstrated strong execution, achieving both progress and quality targets, and setting a new monthly pouring record, adding another success to the company’s hydropower projects in Malaysia.
The project owner has highly recognized the team’s execution capability. The successful completion of this milestone lays a solid foundation for subsequent main works and electromechanical installation, fully demonstrating the company’s professional strength and contract performance capability in overseas hydropower projects. Moving forward, the project team will build on this momentum, continue to strengthen safety, quality, and schedule control, accelerate construction progress, and strive for early commissioning and power generation—contributing high-quality projects to the company’s sustainable development in overseas markets.
