Serasa Project Hits Major Milestone 5 Days Early

Just 45 days after the successful river closure of the Kemubu Stage II Hydropower Station on May 15, 2025, another victory was reported along the Nenggiri River in Kelantan, Malaysia. On the morning of June 29, the open-cut diversion channel for the Serasa Hydropower Station successfully achieved water flow! This milestone marks a significant breakthrough in the project's key timeline, finishing 5 days ahead of the owner’s deadline. Datuk Faraisah, Chairwoman of RP Hydro (the project owner), together with representatives from project investor Malakoff and consulting firm SMEC, visited the site to witness this important moment. They gave high praise to Anhe’s project execution capabilities.
The Serasa Hydropower Station is located on the Nenggiri, a tributary of the Kelantan River. As a run-of-river hydropower station, its main structures include a river closure dam section, a powerhouse dam section, and a non-overflow dam section. The total dam axis length is 193 meters, with a maximum dam (or gate) height of 25.5 meters. The plant’s normal water storage level is 52 meters, with a total installed capacity of 30MW (3×10MW units).
Since the start of the diversion channel excavation on February 22, 2025, the project team has overcome frequent rainfall and other challenging conditions. Through optimized construction planning, multi-line coordination, and simultaneous progress on access roads and camp facilities, the team ensured the efficient and on-schedule completion of key milestones. After 127 days of relentless effort, the project achieved the water diversion target ahead of schedule.
This successful diversion marks the full transition of the Serasa Hydropower Project into the main structure construction phase, a milestone achievement for the overall project timeline. Faced with heavy workloads, complex coordination tasks, and unpredictable weather, the project team demonstrated strong planning, scientific organization, and tireless dedication, working day and night to ensure safety and quality. Their performance reflects both responsibility and commitment.
This stage victory in Malaysia’s first performance-based contract for the company is a testament to the wisdom and hard work of the entire project team. We are proud, full of passion, and filled with anticipation! The Anhe team will take this successful diversion as a new starting point, making every effort to push forward with the main works and write a new chapter in the win-win cooperation between China and Malaysia!
